Sonata - 2019

Top-Down Survival Game

Sonata was my senior graduation project at Minneapolis College of Art & Design. It's a top-down survival game for Windows and Mac. Sonata started as a personal short story I wrote that follows a man trying to survive the rigid cold of a post-apocalyptic America. I wrote the story and produced an accompanying music piece. Eventually, I decided to adapt the story and sound design into a short game.

After painting the world and assets using Illustrator and Photoshop, I used the Godot Engine to program the game and bring all its elements together. My two dear friends Vivan Lu and Dane Frankhouser helped me animate the character and narrate the voiceover, respectively.
